I take mine to my KMG grinder and do it in seconds, but I realize not everyone has that type of equipment. Well, this would not be a "Fire Knife" if Mora hadn't already done it for you. And, it is a superb job! Nice and square and throws awesome sparks. Way to go! That last feature on this knife is the swedge type grind at the tip.

With the TW90 at $3600 and the Outlaw at $3500. It's a no brainer for the TW90. He turned knife grinder makers on their heads and the Outlaw and North are just the results of that. The Outlaw has the same shitty tracking and tension as the KMG.

A flat grind with a slightly convexed edge makes for a superb cutting tool, and can be done with hand tools MUCH easier than trying to hand tool a hollow grind. My recommendation is to do that and see if you even like making knives. If you do, and you're still hell bent on hollow grinding, then save your pennies for a quality belt grinder.

Direct drive is the ONLY way to go WITH a VFD of course. If budget isn't an option then the NEMA 4X enclosure, otherwise a cheap Chinese VFD that are so easy to setup. With filters over air inlets they last for many years. For $70 or so even if they only lasted 4 or 5 yrs would still be cheap. The KMG has been a good basic grinder for many years.

I've had a grizzly for more years than I care to admit. Been a good servicable machine. I made the fixed blade knife in the fixed blade tutorial here on the forum with the grizzly grinder. Would the Bader or KMG with all the bells and whistles be better? Absolutely. But, like Orvet said, the 2k-3k you save will buy lots of equipment or supplies.
